In this August, the national general consumer price went up 5.3% over last August, keeping the roughly same growth rate with this July. Specifically speaking, the tailed influence from the previous-emerging factors resulted in the rise of 3.7 percentage points, and the new factors led to the rise of 1.6 percentage points. Analyzed by rural and urban area, the price in urban area went up 4.8%, and that in rural area rose 6.1%. Compared with last month, the consumer price level ascended 0.7%.
Analyzed by region, the consumer prices in the 31 provinces(regions and municipalities directly under the central government) all went up over last August with the rises of from 2.1% to 7.5%. Specifically speaking, the regions with the higher rises were Yunnan(up 7.5%), Sichuan(up 7.2%), Henan(up 7.1%).
Analyzed by category, the price of foods went up 13.9% year on year, which was the main factor in the price rise of this August, and that of non-foods climbed only 1.0%, that of consumer goods ascended 6.3%, that of service items was up 2.0%.
Among the foods, the price of grain climbed 31.8%, that of grease was up 22.5%, that of meat, poultry and their products went up 23.5%, that of fresh eggs rose 30.3%, that of aquatic goods ascended 15.6%, that of fresh vegetables went up 5.8%.
The price of clothes went down 1.7%, especially, that of garment declined 1.8%.
The price of home appliances and related services dropped 1.1%, of which, the price of durable consumer goods went down 2.5%, and that of home services, processing and repairs rose 1.9%.
The price of medical care and individual articles went down 1.0%, specifically speaking, the price of western price dropped 5.4%, that of traditional Chinese medicine materials and prepared Chinese medicines went down 2.9%, but that of medical care services went up 3.8%.
The price of transport and communications products and services descended 1.2%. Specifically speaking, the price of transport tools went down 3.4%, but that of vehicle-used fuels and parts rose 10.5%, that of vehicles using and repairs went up 1.6%, that for transporting between cities went up 2.9%, that of communications tools declined 15.6%.
The price of recreational, educational and cultural articles and services rose 1.1%, especially, the price of tuition, miscellaneous fees and cost for sending the child to kindergartens rose 2.5%, that for recreation was up 1.7%, that for travel and going out climbed 4.0%, but the price of recreational durable consumer goods went down 6.3%.
The price for living elements went up 6.0%, specifically speaking, the price of water, electricity and fuels rose 9.6%, that of building and upholstering materials went up 5.3%, and that of renting houses rose 3.2%.
The general consumer price level in the first eight months of this year went up 4.0% year on year.
